Hello!
Here I am back from my Parisian trip last week! 6 days in the capital, as a Mum, a Tourist and a Student!
I'll share some touristic photos with you, but most of all tell you about my colourful experience and how my chromo-therapist training was! (let me tell you a secret..I LOVED IT!)
Phrase of the Week
Before I start I want to share a little phrase for the week, and for the whole of your life! A little reminder to motivate you even more to do cross stitch and embroidery in general.
Studious Paris
Like all mums, I'm very proud of our two children Thomas and Lily! My training fell at the same time as their interviews for major art schools in Paris. Tom is applying for a higher diploma course and Lily had an interview for the ENSAMAA school (where Tom is still a student), to get onto a DNMADE Architecture and Interior Design course . We spent 6 days preparing for our important respectives meetings..and all three of us were happy with our performances!
Funnily enough I'm preparing an episode on my podcast about the legacy of creativity ...
Touristic Paris
Our first site to visit was of course Notre Dame. Following the fire of a few weeks ago we wanted to get as close as possible .. which wasn't very close because all the surrounding area and roads were barred. We could only see it from afar on the banks of the Seine and on one of the bridges.
Even damaged and flame licked, the cathedral was beautiful and dignified.
We wandered in the 15th arrondissement also at our leisure and had the pleasure and the surprise to see a familiar outline appear at the end of a street!
Paris Color
When I go to Paris, I am struck by all the colours I see. This time I had the pleasure of going to see my friend Brigitte's shop the Tapestries of the Bucherie, which is located just opposite of Notre Dame. Her tapestry store is full of marvellous skeins of hand dyed Aubusson wool.
We also enjoyed going to the BHV department store in the Marais and visiting Level 2 of the store especially! I love to take a colour bath on this floor every time I go and it feels great!
we also went to the Beaugrenelle precinct with it's pretty ceiling and colourful decorations
All these beautiful colours made me feel good and prepared me for my training on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!
Training Paris
As you maybe know, or not, I went to Paris to do the first level of a course to become a chromo-therapist. And it exceeded all my expectations! We studied colour and light, both theory and in practice..I couldn't take pictures for obvious reasons but here is one of the 12 colours cushions of the colour wheel.
I can't wait to do the other levels and know everything about this fascinating profession. I can already start working with colour and will integrate what I learn as I learn more and more. I hope someday to be able to open a practice and share the magic of colour light therapy with you. It's wonderful and a fantastic way to feel good and be healthy.
This week-end I'll be attending a stitching and hand craft show near Limoges in Uzerche, and will tell you all about it next week! Thank you for reading this article and I wish you a wonderful week full of crosses, colour and light.
Happy Stitching!
Melanie
