Aviez Vous Bien Deviné? Pack Fils Février

  

Bonjour!

Il est temps de révéler les photos du pack de février, car la plupart des packs sont arrivés à destination... certains plus loin ne l'ont pas encore fait, mais cela ne va pas tarder !

J'ai adoré faire ce pack (comme tous les autres !) et j'ai trouvé que la palette de couleurs reflète bien le mois de février pour moi et, espérons-le, pour vous aussi ? J'ai eu envie de créer un pack doux et romantique pour célébrer ce mois d'AMOUR et d'AFFECTION !

L'année dernière, j'ai créé un joli pack ROSE pour mes abonnés, alors cette année, j'ai voulu changer un peu le thème. J'avais besoin de garder les fils roses. Alors le pack de ce mois-ci est composé de 5 jolis roses tendres et romantiques accompagnés de quelques jolis gris et je trouve qu'ils se marient très bien et se complètent parfaitement.

Informations de livraison

Les commandes d'abonnement prises d'ici le 15 mars recevront le futur pack de mars. Les commandes après le 15 mars recevront le pack d'avril en premier. Cependant je prépare toujours plus de fils donc lorsque vous vous abonnez si vous souhaitez recevoir le pack du mois précédent cela est possible. Vous pouvez l'ajouter à votre panier lors de la création de votre abonnement ou me le faire savoir et je peux organiser cela pour vous.

Si vous choisissez l'abonnement mensuel, vous n'aurez pas à commander à nouveau car vous recevrez votre pack tous les mois après réception de votre paiement récurrent automatique via Paypal ou Stripe. Si vous ne souhaitez plus recevoir votre abonnement, vous pouvez simplement annuler les paiements récurrents dans Paypal, ou envoyez-moi un message et je peux le faire pour vous.

Je vais teindre les fils à la main sur commande et j'ai besoin d'une semaine à 10 jours pour le faire. Vous recevrez votre abonnement à partir du 15 du mois. Ce délai dépend bien sûr de votre lieu de résidence et de la situation postale actuelle !

Did You Guess Right? February Thread Pack

 

Hi There!

Its time to reveal the February pack photos, as most of the packs have arrived at their destinations...some further afield haven't yet, but won't be long now!

I loved making this pack (like all the others!) and felt that the colour scheme really reflects the month of February well for me and hopefully you too? I wanted to create a soft and romantic pack to celebrate this month of LOVE and AFFECTION!

Last year I created a lovely PINK pack for my subscribers, so this year I wanted to change the theme a bit. I needed to keep the pink threads in though. So the pack this month is made up of 5 lovely soft and romantic pinks accompanied by some lovely greys and I think that they marry really well and compliment each other perfectly.

If you choose the monthly subscription you won't have to order again as you'll receive your pack every month after I receive your automatic recurring payment through Paypal. If you no longer wish to receive your subscription you can simply cancel the recurring payments in Paypal, or send me a message and I can do it for you.

I will be hand dyeing the threads to order and need a week to 10 days to do this. You will receive your subscription from the 15th of the month onwards. This delay depends on where you live of course and of the current postal situation!

Combien d’Etapes y a t’il?

Comment ça va chez vous et comment s'est passée votre semaine ? Avez-vous brodé devant les Jeux olympiques d'hiver, encouragé votre pays en biathlon, patinage de vitesse, curling ou tout autre sport intéressant ? Ou peut-être, si vous venez des États-Unis, vous avez profité au maximum du looooooong match de football du Super Bowl pour faire de grands progrès dans vos WIP ??

J'ai été occupée cette semaine à teindre à la main quelques commandes de toiles personnalisés et  je me suis régalée à chaque instant. C'est un processus totalement différent de la teinture à la main de la gamme de fils, donc le changement m'a fait le plus de bien ! En parlant de processus, je vous parlerai des différentes étapes que je prends pour peindre mes fils à la main et j'annoncerai également qui a remporté le concours spontané que j'ai lancé il y a quelque temps…

Concours Spontané

Il y a environ 10 jours, j'ai partagé un post Le saviez-vous sur IG et FB sur le temps qu'il faut pour produire un fil teint à la main de A à Z ! Saviez-vous que…

C'est vrai 35 heures !!… Il y a une période d'environ 24 heures de trempage, donc cela semble vraiment long et impressionnant !! J'ai ensuite demandé à tout le monde d'essayer de deviner combien d'étapes il y a dans mon processus de teinture à la main du fil et, ce faisant, j'ai créé mon concours spontané !

Processus en 14 Étapes

Le nombre correct d'étapes à suivre est de 14 étapes principales, car il peut y en avoir de plus petites en cours de route que je n'ai pas incluses. Je ne peux pas tous les passer en revue pour le moment, sinon cet article serait sans fin et vous vous ennuieriez beaucoup, mais je vais en souligner 2 ou 3 car ils constituent les plus importants à faire correctement !

La première étape critique est l'étape du mélange des poudres. C'est à ce moment que la future couleur commence et le résultat dépend de plusieurs variantes différentes à ce stade précoce. Une évidence est le poids ou les bonnes quantités utilisées pour composer le mélange… si je mets trop de l'un et pas assez de l'autre, le résultat de la couleur sera différent. La température de l'eau que j'utilise pour mélanger les couleurs, la quantité de sel ou même le temps qu'il fait à l'extérieur peuvent tous modifier le résultat final... et ce ne sont là que quelques-unes des variables !!

La prochaine étape (pas dans l'ordre) qui est cruciale est l'étape de fixation. Cela se fait une fois la couleur absorbée et rincée. Cela peut être l'un des plus ennuyeux selon la couleur sur laquelle vous travaillez. Certaines couleurs (historiquement fabriquées avec des pigments rouges) peuvent être un cauchemar à fixer et nécessiteront plusieurs bains. Il faut parfois recommencer tout le processus car le fil a perdu trop de couleur !

Une autre étape que j'apprécie est celle du triage. C'est le moment où je peux trier le grand écheveau et le séparer en 8 brins, qui feront le produit de fil final qui va sur la carte. Je fais généralement cette étape (souvent tous les soirs) devant la télévision ou Netflix et j'apprécie ce temps d'arrêt et la préparation des fils. C'est aussi une affaire de famille car mon mari Gilles me donne souvent un coup de main, ou Jessy ma tante et même ma belle-mère quand elles viennent déjeuner chez moi ! Au lieu de faire la vaisselle, je leur donne des fils à compter !!!

Il n'y avait donc que 3 personnes qui ont trouvé le nombre exact d'étapes (14) !! J'ai demandé à ma fille de choisir au hazard un des trois morceaux de papier que je tenais dans ma main et elle a sorti ce nom:

Abonnement Club Toiles - Fevrier

La couleur du toile du mois se marie très bien avec les couleurs de fil de février et a été envoyé le même jour. Voici quelques photos des différents toiles que j'ai choisis pour la saison d'abonnement club toiles Hiver

Comme pour les toiles de décembre et janvier, celui de février est brillant et festif. Les types de toiles étaient Aida scintillant 7 pts, Brittney Lugana scintillant 11F et Lin scintillant 12F, cette fois dans un joli gris souris que j'appelle SOURIS. C'est la dernière couleur du trio Hiver et je trouve que c'est une belle façon de finir l'hiver avant de se lancer dans le printemps !

Je montrerai le trio du printemps dans les prochaines semaines ! Je me demande si vous pouvez deviner quelles couleurs composeront le trio printanier?

How Many Steps Does It Take?

How are things with you and how was your week? Have you been stitching away in front of the Winter Olympics, cheering on your country in Biathlon, speed skating, curling or any other of the interesting sports? Or maybe, if you’re from the USA you made the most of the loooooooong Super Bowl football game to get some great progress in your WIP’s??

I have been busy this week hand dyeing a few custom fabric orders and enjoying every moment of it. It’s a totally different process than hand dyeing the thread range, so the change did me the most of good! Talking about process, I’ll be talking you through the different steps I take for hand painting my threads and I’ll also be announcing who has won the spontaneous contest I launched a while back.

Spontaneous Contest

Around 10 days ago I shared a Did You Know post on IG and FB about how long it takes to produce a hand dyed thread from A to Z! Did you know that…

That’s right 35 hrs!!…There is a period of about 24 hrs soaking time though so it does seem really long and impressive!! I then asked everyone to try and guess how many steps there are in my thread hand dyeing process and in doing so created my spontaneous contest!

14 Step Dyeing Process

The correct number of steps to follow is 14…14 main steps as there can be smaller ones along the way that I didn’t include. I can’t go through all of them right now otherwise this article would be never ending and you’d get very bored, but I’m going to highlight 2 or 3 of them as they make up the most important ones to get right!

The first critical step is the powder mixing stage. This is when the future colour begins and the result depends on quite a few different variants at this early stage. An obvious one is the weight or the right quantities used to make up the mix…if I put in too much of one and not of the other the colour result will be different. The temperature of the water I use to mix the colours with, the amount of salt or even what the weather is like outside can all alter the final result.. and that is just a few of the variables!! 

The next stage ( not in order) that is crucial is the fixing stage. This is done once the colour is absorbed and has been rinsed. It can be one of the most annoying depending on the colour that you’re working on. Some of the colours (historically made with red pigments) can be a nightmare to fix and will require several baths. Sometimes you have to start the whole process over again because the thread has lost too much colour! 

Another stage I enjoy is the sorting stage. This is the time I can sort through the large skein and separate into 8 strands that’ll make the final thread product that goes on to the card. I usually do this stage (often every night) in front of the TV or Netflix and I enjoy this downtime and getting the threads ready. It’s also a family affair as my husband Gilles often gives me a hand, or Jessy my aunt and even my mother in law when they come over for lunch! Instead of doing the washing up, I give them threads to count!!!

February Fabric Subscription

This months fabric pairs up really nicely with the February thread colours and was sent out on the same day. Here are some photos of the different fabric I chose for the Winter fabric subscription season

February Subscription Fabrics

As for the December and January monthly fabrics, the February one is shiny and festive. The fabric categories were 18 CT Sparkly Aida, 28 CT Sparkly Brittney Lugana and 32 CT Sparkly Linen, this time in a lovely mousy grey that I call SOURIS. This is the last colour in the Winter trio and I find it’s a lovely way to finish off winter before embarking on Spring!

I’ll be showing the Spring trio in the next few weeks! I wonder if you can guess which colours will make up the Spring Trio??

SAL Paon 2022 Premier Mois - Janvier

 

Bonjour!

Bienvenue sur mon blog pour ce premier aperçu des photos du SAL Température Paon 2022 ! Je suis tellement heureuse d'avoir accueilli autant de nouvelles brodeuses dans mon groupe Température SAL sur Facebook et voir les premières plumes prendre forme a été vraiment amusant et excitant. Vous trouverez certaines des photos plus bas dans cet article.

 SAL Paon 2022 - Janvier

Le SAL 2022 Temperature Paon a commencé le 1er janvier, comme vous le savez peut-être tous, et nous sommes maintenant 410 participants dans le groupe jusqu'à présent... ce qui est fantastique ! J'espère que beaucoup d'autres se joindront au cours de l'année!

La majorité des membres brodent les plumes de paon et elles ont déjà fière allure. Certaines autres dames brodent le SAL 2020 Arbre de L’Amour avec les températures de 2022 et quelques-unes brodent même mon SAL Fleurs Temperature original que j'ai créé en 2017… Nous verrons de belles broderies prendre forme au cours de cette année !

Voici quelques-unes des photos terminées du mois de janvier... il y a tellement de versions et de couleurs différentes qui se rejoignent sur la toile!

Il y a quelques semaines, j'ai lancé un concours sur mes réseaux sociaux pour deviner les couleurs ou le thème, du pack de fils de février dans l'abonnement aux fils... Je n'ai pas eu besoin de donner un indice ce mois-ci car février est célèbre pour sa journée spéciale et certaines couleurs sont assez faciles à trouver. Je l’ai associé à une autre couleur et ils sont magnifiques ! Je dévoilerai les couleurs de ce pack dans un prochain article.

2022 Peacock SAL First Month - January

Hi there!

Welcome back to my blog for this first glimpse at the 2022 Peacock SAL photos! I’m so pleased to have welcomed so many new stitchers into my Temperature SAL group on Facebook and seeing the first feathers take shape has been really fun and exciting. You’ll find some of the photos lower in this article.

I’ll also be revealing the name of the February pack contest.. so keep reading to find out whether it’s you!

2022 Peacock SAL - January

The 2022 Peacock Temperature SAL started on the 1st January, as you all may well know, and we're now 410 participants in the group so far.. which is fantastic! I hope that many more will join over the year!

The majority of the members are stitching the Peacock SAL and they're already looking great. Some other ladies are stitching the 2020 Tree of Love SAL with the 2022 temperatures and a few are even stitching my original Flower Temperature SAL that I created in 2017… We’ll be seeing some lovely stitching taking shape over this year!

February Pack Contest Winner

A few weeks ago I launched a contest on my social networks to guess the colours or theme, of the  February thread pack in the thread subscription...I didn’t need to give a clue this month because February is famous for its special day and some of the colours are quite easy to find. I associated them with another colour and they look gorgeous! I’ll be revealing the colours of this pack in a later article.

You all let your imagination go to work and you gave me lots of different and interesting answers! The names of all those who gave at least one correct answer were put in a hat to be drawn at random. The winner of one of the February pack thread is…..
