As Green as Grass or Luck of the Irish?

Hi There!

Today I'm talking about the colour green! No I'm not envious ... on the contrary! .. green tends to make us think of wonderful prairies or garden lawns doesn't it? It's a very fresh invigorating colour and imposes compassion.

I'm going to talk to you about the symbolism of this colour, and some other colours in different articles that will follow. In case you didn't read my red article you can read it here; the orange article here and the yellow article here). but for today, the coolest of the spectrum..Green

Symbolism

The color Green is associated with the fourth chakra, that of the heart. The one halfway down the body, in the chest, representing self-love and gratitude. We associate the green with nature of course, and all plant life. It's soothing, refreshing and even has antiseptic healing values.

In Western culture, it's associated with hope and luck. But in the cinema and the theatre this colour is taboo and forbidden!
This belief was inherited from the Middle Ages. At that time, copper oxide was used to dye the costumes green. This chemical compound, being very toxic, and very unstable in the presence of moisture, was known to have been at the origin of many intoxications in the acting world.  That's the reason for this strange tradition ...

It also reflects balance and love for oneself, for the universe and for others, and of course hope.

On the contrary, when there is an imbalance, green symbolises misfortune, failure and even depression.

Green in Everyday Life

Green is a refreshing colour and is used in brands and advertising to this effect. Brands like Tic Tac, Heineken and Starbucks for example
