June Pack Photos + Encounter with a Swedish Designer

Hi There!

Its time to reveal the June pack photos, as most of the packs have arrived at their destinations...some further afield haven't yet, but won't be long now!

I loved making this pack for you and I think that it's one of my favourites..if not my all time favourite! It's a gorgeous bouquet of watery sea greens, turquoise and pacific blues and purples and really shout out summer and the tropics for me. They were so nice to dye and transported me to desert islands and gorgeous Caribbean beaches..so that's why I've called the June pack TROPICAL! I hope they transport you too and bring you much pleasure and well being as you stitch!

One of the threads from this months pack is a new creation that will be available soon for purchase in my shop..it's called Atoll. Let's see if you can spot it in the photos? The free gift this month was a lovely blue linen thread from Sweden. The company that sells them is called Linladen and I'll tell you a bit about them later in this article..

Delivery Information

Orders for the July Pack opens today, 22nd June and will close on the 31st June at midnight. Any orders received after midnight on the 31st June will receive the August pack. 

I do have a few packs left over and the first orders received and those after the 31st will qualify for any left over June packs. Please let me know if you'd like to start with the June pack.

If you choose the monthly subscription you won't have to order again as you'll receive your pack every month after I receive your automatic recurring payment through Paypal. If you no longer wish to receive your subscription you can simply cancel the recurring payments in Paypal, or send me a message and I can do it for you.

If you don't have a Paypal account but would still like to buy the monthly version of  the subscription please contact me and I can set this up for you. 

I will be hand dyeing the threads to order and need a week to 10 days to do this. You will receive your subscription from the 15th of the month onwards. This delay depends on where you live of course and of the current postal situation!

Linladen

As I mentioned earlier in the introduction of this article, the free present that I sent out with the June pack is a lovely linen thread from a company based in Bristol (UK) called Linladen. 

This is a tiny part of her About Us page: 

Linladan is Swedish for flax barn. 

Our beautiful vintage Linblomman (The Flax Flower) linen threads are products of Sweden's textile industry in the 1960s. As the factories closed down, the remaining stocks ended up hidden away in an old haberdashery stockroom for decades until just a few years ago....

Tanja is Swedish and has found lots of these antique threads and sells them on her site in glorious packs like the ones in the photo below. She has also designed a modern range called Lyster. I chose several different blue Lyster threads and sent one out with each of my subscriptions.

Broderie par Numéro - Wol Fratsen

Bonjour! 

Cette semaine, je vais faire un tour dans le passé et très probablement vous emmener avec moi ! J'ai commencé à recevoir des commentaires et des photos sur certains des projets que mes abonnées ont brodés avec leurs fils de l'abonnement mensuel, et l'une d'elles en particulier m'a vraiment plu cette semaine.

A tel point que j'ai eu envie d'en savoir plus sur le créateur de la grille et cela m'a ouvert un tout nouveau monde de broderie dont je ne connaissais même pas l'existence ! N'est-ce pas génial de trouver de nouveaux créateurs incroyables et de penser qu'il y en a des centaines d'autres qui attendent d'être découverts !

Je mettrai en avant cette nouvelle créatrice (nouvelle pour moi) et partagerai avec vous certains de ses travaux. Je suis sûre que vous allez adorer ses créations aussi.

Un Saut Dans Le Passé

Quand j'étais petite, j'étais obsédée par un cadeau d'anniversaire que quelqu'un m'avait offert lors d'une de mes fêtes. C'était l'ensemble complet d'outils de dessin appelé Spirograph. Ce nom vous dit aussi quelque chose ? Peut-être en avez-vous même eu un vous-même ?

N'importe comment à partir de ce moment ma fascination pour les motifs géométriques est né. Je me souviens juste d'avoir été très satisfait à chaque fois que je créais un dessin avec mon jeu. En y repensant, je ne suis pas surprise ! C'est un peu comme lorsque vous faites du point de croix ou du Blackwork, et les mouvements répétitifs vous calment et aident votre cerveau à sécréter les bonnes hormones pour vous aider à vous sentir content, détendu et satisfait.

En plus du spirographe, notre mère nous achetait chaque été des cahiers à colorier à motifs géométriques pour nos longs trajets du Royaume-Uni à Perpignan... et j'adorais les colorier et créer des motifs dans les motifs !

Pas étonnant que j'aime tellement les motifs de remplissage du blackwork. J'ai également fait beaucoup de dessins Zentangle au cours des dernières années, ce qui avait une sensation de détente similaire et de nombreux puzzles aussi. Tout cela pour dire que j'aime que les choses soient organisées et équilibrées et que cela aide mon cerveau à rester équilibré.

Vous devez vous demander pourquoi je parle d'un jeu d'enfance que j'ai eu et ce qu'il a en commun avec la broderie.. J'y arrive ne vous inquiétez pas !

Ruban du Sud

Fabienne de Ruban du Sud est une quilteuse hors pair elle quilt tous vos beaux réalisations patchwork. http://rubandusud.over-blog.com/ 

Elle est également l'une de mes abonnées au fil, et elle brode pour se détendre après son travail. Elle m'a envoyé quelques photos de son travail en utilisant mes fils et j'en suis tout de suite tombée sous le charme et quand vous les voyez je pense que vous comprendrez pourquoi !

Vous rappellent-ils quelque chose ? Exactement le même type de motifs que j'adore depuis que je suis petite. Brodé avec des points de broderie traditionnels et un magnifique mélange de couleurs dégradées. J'ai demandé à Fabienne si c'était elle la créatrice, mais ce n'était pas elle.. elle m'a dit qui c'était et j'ai immédiatement cherché sur le net. Merci fabienne de m'avoir fait connaitre cette créatrice!

Wol Fratsen

Voici Myrte Biondic, de Hollande, et elle est la créatrice de la marque Wol Fratsen.

Elle a beaucoup de motifs du meme genre et c'est vraiment amusant car chaque section est une forme numérotée..vous brodez avec ses couleurs proposées ou interprétez le motif avec votre choix de couleurs..c'est un peu comme broder par numéros !

Stitching By Numbers - Wol Fratsen

 

Hi There! 

This week I'll be going down memory lane, and quite possibly be taking you with me! I've started getting feedback and photos back on some of the projects my subscribers have been stitching with their monthly threads, and one of them really took my fancy this week.

So much so that I wanted to find out more about the designer of the chart and it opened up a whole new stitching world to me that I didn't even know existed! Isn't it great to find new amazing designers and to think that there are hundreds of others out there waiting to be discovered!

I'll be highlighting this new (to me) designer and sharing some of her work with you; I'm sure you're going to love her designs too.

Memory Lane

When I was little I was obsessed by a birthday present someone had given me at one of my parties. It was the complete set of drawing tools called Spirograph. Does that name ring a bell for you too? Maybe you even had one yourself?

Any how from that moment onwards my love of geometrical patterns was born. I just remember feeling very satisfied every time I created a drawing with my game. Thinking back now I'm not surprised! It's very much like when you do cross stitch or Blackwork, and the repetitive movements calm you and help your brain secrete the right feel good hormones to help you feel content, relaxed and satisfied.

As well as the spirograph, our mum used to buy us geometrical pattern colouring pads for our long drives down from the UK to Perpignan every summer..and I absolutely loved colouring them in and creating patterns within patterns!

No wonder I love blackwork pattern fillers so much. I have also done quite a lot of Zentangle drawing too in the past few years, which had a similar relaxing feel to it and lots of puzzles. All this to say that I like things to be organised and balanced and that in turn helps my brain stay balanced.

Ruban du Sud

Fabienne from Ruban du Sud is a fantastic quilter and professionally quilts all your patchwork designs for you. http://rubandusud.over-blog.com/ 

She is also one of my thread subscribers, and she stitches to wind down after her work and to relax. She sent me some photos of her work, using my threads and I fell in love with them straight away and when you see them I think that you'll understand why!

Do they remind you of anything? Exactly the same type of patterns that I've loved since I was little. Stitched with traditional embroidery stitches and gorgeous mix of graduating colours. I asked Fabienne if she was the designer, but it wasn't her.. she told me who it was and I searched the net for her immediately.

Wol Fratsen

This is Myrte Biondic, from Holland , who is the designer behind the make Wol Fratsen. She has many designs of the sort and it's really fun because each section is a numbered shape..you stitch with her proposed colours or interpret the design with your choice of colours..it's a bit like stitching by numbers!

Gagnantes des Concours Fil & Toile! Est-ce Toi?

Bonjour a toi!

Comment s'est passée ta semaine? Ma semaine a été très chargée (ne sont-ils pas toujours !!). Le début du mois est toujours une période très chargée pour moi car je réunis tous les éléments de l'abonnement fil, triés, imprimés, assemblés, emballés et prêts à être envoyés. En plus de ça, j'ai lancé mon abonnement toiles fin mai et il commencera par les coupons de toiles couleur été. Un pour le mois de juin, un pour le mois de juillet et un pour le mois d'août. L'un des abonnements toiles est un forfait mensuel dans lequel j'envoie un morceau du type de toile choisi à mes abonnés. L'autre abonnement est un abonnement saisonnier où j'envoie trois morceaux de toiles au début de chaque saison. Comme vous pouvez probablement le constater, je dois teindre à la main les trois couleurs saisonnières en même temps en vue de les envoyer au début de la nouvelle saison. Donc je suis aussi occupée à jongler avec les deux abonnements..c'est une bonne chose que je puisse jongler avec plusieurs projets à la fois alors ! Toutes mes excuses pour ne pas avoir envoyé ma newsletter hebdomadaire hier, mais j'étais submergée dans les paquets de fil et de toile et je ne pouvais plus m'en sortir! Je suis ici aujourd'hui pour annoncer les deux gagnantes des concours du mois. Une gagnante remportera l'un des fils du pack de juin et une autre remportera un coupon de toile teint à la main du pack saisonnier d'été. Thread & Fabric Contest Winners! Is it You?

 

Hi There!

How has your week been? My week has been really busy (aren’t they always!!). The beginning of the month is always a very busy time for me because I’m getting my thread subscription elements altogether, sorted, printed , collated, packed and ready to send.

On top of this, I launched my fabric subscription at the end of May and I'll be starting with the summer pieces of fabric. One for the month of June, one for the month of July, and one for the month of August. One of the fabric subscriptions is a monthly plan where I send out one piece of chosen fabric type to my subscribers. The other subscription plan is a seasonal one where I send out three pieces of fabric at the beginning of each season. As you can probably gather I have to hand dye the three seasonal colours all at once in preparation to send out at the beginning of the new season. So I'm also busy juggling both subscriptions..it's a good thing that I can juggle several projects at once then!

Many apologies for not sending out my weekly newsletter yesterday but I was up to my eyeballs in thread packets and fabric! I’m here today to announce the two winners of this months contests. Je n'ai pas arrêté, pour être honnête, entre la teinture des fils du pack de juin et l'organisation du nouvel abonnement club toiles ! Vous aurez un aperçu des fils du pack de juin ci-dessous (ainsi qu'un concours rapide pour deviner les couleurs)

Cette semaine, mon article est également consacré au travail incroyable de certaines des femmes du SAL 2021 Star Temperature. Ils sont incroyables et leurs broderies aussi ! Elles m'ont toutes inspirées pour essayer! Vous trouverez de belles photos ci-dessous...

SAL Etoile 2021 - Mai

Le SAL 2021 Temperature Etoile a commencé le 1er janvier et nous sommes 352 participantes dans le groupe jusqu'à présent ... ce qui est fantastique!

La majorité des membres brodent le SAL Etoile et ils ont fière allure. Certaines autres brodeuses brodent le SAL 2020 Arbre de L'Amour avec les températures de 2021.

J'apprécie de voir toutes les étoiles prendre vie et les couleurs qui se construisent tous les jours ... il y a de beaux SAL.

Je viens moi-même de commencer à broder ce SAL .. En voyant toutes les belles combinaisons de couleurs, je n'ai tout simplement pas pu résister et j'ai commencé à broder le mois de mars! Je rattraperai janvier et février au fur et à mesure.

Abonnement Club Toiles

Souhaitez-vous recevoir un beau coupon de toile à broder teint à la main dans votre boîte aux lettres tous les mois, ou tous les 3 mois au début de chaque nouvelle saison?

Choisissez de recevoir soit un morceau de toile par mois, soit si vous préférez un pack de 3 toiles teintées à la main de votre choix à chaque nouvelle saison (3 mois).

2021 Star Temperature SAL - May

Hi there!

How has your week been? I hope you've had a chance to relax and enjoy some better weather and maybe being out in your garden, or in nature?

I've haven't stopped, to be honest, between dyeing the June pack threads and organising the new fabric club subscription! You'll get a sneak peek of the June pack threads below (along with a quick contest to guess the colours)

This week my article is also dedicated to the amazing work by some of the ladies in the 2021 Star Temperature SAL. They're amazing and so is their stitching! They all inspired me to give it a go! You'll find plenty of great photos below...

2021 Star SAL - May

The 2021 Star Temperature SAL started on the 1st January and we're 352 participants in the group so far.. which is fantastic!

The majority of the members are stitching the Star SAL and they're looking great. Some other ladies are stitching the 2020 Tree of Love SAL with the 2021 temperatures. 

I'm enjoying watching all the stars come alive and the colours building everyday..there are some beautiful SAl's growing.

June Pack - What colours are they?

Fabric Club Subscription

Would you like to receive a beautiful piece of hand dyed stitching fabric in your postbox every month, or every 3 months at the start of the new season?

Choose to receive either a piece of of fabric per month or if you prefer a pack of 3 hand dyed fabrics of your choice every new season (3 months). Colours will be seasonally themed and chosen from my vast Tom & Lily stitching fabric range. Watch out for some exclusive to you only colours also! Bring some colour to your life and brighten up your stitching routine.

You choose which style of fabric you'll receive between Aida, Eavenweave or Linen. Each piece in a season will be the same fabric type (3 x Aida 16 CT for example) but another season may have the same basic fabric type but in a different size ( Aida 18CT or 20CT)

Over 12 months you'll receive 12 pieces of fabric, either 1 piece a month or 3 pieces four times in the year, created and lovingly produced from my home in France to yours!
